Showdown in Austria

Next weekend the Rohrmax Final Four 2012 takes place in Vienna, Austria. The best four teams of the women’s and the men’s league are fighting for the Austrian crown. The tournament starts on Friday, June 22, with the semi finals of the men: at 16:00 SV Arminen, the host of the finals, challenges Post SV, at 19:00 AHTC, last year’s champion, is playing against WAC. The winners will meet each other on Sunday, 18:00, in the final of the Austrian championship. The women’s are playing on Saturday, June 23 – the duels are SV Arminen vs. AHTC (15:00) and HC Maxx Stahl Wels vs. Post SV (18:00). The final will be played on Sunday at 15:15. There are a lot of changes in the Austrian Hockey Federation going on. After Nitan Sondhi, former assistant coach, took over the position as head coach of the Austrian women’s national team from Marcin Nyckowiak in May, the Austrian Hockey Federation and Frank Hänel, former head coach of the Austrian men’s squad, are separating as well. FIH mourns passing of Nicole Delaloye-Maye

The International Hockey Federation is deeply saddened by the passing of Nicole Delaloye-Maye,  who worked as Operations Manager at the FIH offices in Lausanne from 2005 until 2010. “Everyone always knew that they could count on Nicole not just for her efficiency and organizational skills, but even more importantly, for her composed attitude and calm in any storm.” stated Leandro Negre, President of the FIH..”I think I am speaking on behalf of many of the hockey family when I say that we cherish the memories of the times spent together.” A lifelong sports fan, as a teenager Nicole, competed in gymnastics at an international level representing Switzerland and later occupied many official positions for the International Gymnastics Federation, including Judge and Honorary Member. Additionally, Nicole was Secretary of the Committee for Lausanne’s Panathlon Club for many years and a fully certified Swiss Ski Teacher. French Umpires Seminar

The French Umpiring and Officials Committee organised an umpire  seminar on Saturday June 2nd 2012 which was also the day of the Elite championship finales for both Women & Men at the superb RC France venue in La Boulie (West of Paris). 20 participants attended this seminar that was handed over by Yolande BRADA (Netherlands) who is well known in the umpiring world. This seminar was opened by Yves RENAUD, President of FF Hockey, who welcomed Yolande BRADA as well as all umpires.
