22.05.2015, Brussels, On Day 1 at the Tilman Brewin Dolphin EuroHockey Club Trophy in Dublin, a late surge from the hosts TRRHC ensured an overnight pole position.
Pool A: SG Amsicora 2 (L Asuni, J Tubio) Whitchurch 2 (P Wilkinson, T Gwynne-Harris)
Welsh side Whitchurch came back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a draw from the opening tie of the EuroHockey Club Champions Trophy. The Italian side SG Amsicora looked well set when Lorenzo Asuni broke the deadlock just seven minutes into the tie and they were 2-0 ahead when Juan Tubio poked home from close range early in the second half.
But the Welsh had their chances throughout with a couple of efforts disallowed before Philip Wilkinson got them back into the mix three minutes after Tubio’s effort.
And Tom Gwynne-Harris’s deflection to a left wing cross with seven minutes to go rocketed to the top corner to make it 2-2 and a share of the spoils.

It’s all square at the top of Pool A after day one of the competition as Atasport and SK Slavia Praha played out the second 2-2 draw of the day.
The Azeri side started in fine form and took little time to go 1-0 up via Shahzad Nasir. The Czechs, however, worked their way into the tie with Daniel Pieterak forcing the tempo and they levelled with a drag-flick from Jakub Kyndl.
Vaqas Ahmad Butt, though, produced a fire-cracker of a corner shot of his own, pinging in off the left post for a 2-1 lead at half-time. The second half was hugely competitive with the umpires managing to keep a lid on a game that could have spilled over.
In the end, Kyndl settled the tie in the closing ten minutes with a powerful push down the middle to make it 2-2.

Jody Hosking then gave Rovers the lead with a breathtaking solo effort, beating three players before unleashing an unstoppable shot from the left side. Koshelenko replied with a diving effort for 2-2 but Rovers countered to win it in the closing phases.
Peter Blakeney chipped in a calm finish for 3-2 with 63 minutes gone; Hosking finished off a sharp team move a minute later before Darling added another with four minutes left.

SC Stroitel Brest came from a goal down to beat Grange 3-2 and become the first side to record a win of the competition in game three of the day.
Recently crowned Scottish champions Grange got off to a flying start with Arin Doig volleying home from close range, a just reward after creating a number of fine chances in the first 10 minutes.
But Stroitel started to take the initiative as time went on and they were back on terms just before half-time via Vitali Zyshckyk in the 29th minute.
Maksim Satsiuk then made it 2-1 in fortuitous fashion when he crossed from the left baseline with the effort taking a wicked deflection into the goal early in the second half.
