Leicester Hockey Club is seeking a new first team coach in preparation for the 2013-14 season. This post is pivotal in ensuring Leicester maintain and improve upon their recent European and National Premier League successes. With a European campaign at Easter 2014 and the domestic league due to start in September 2013, choosing the right candidate for success is key.
For this post you will have:
Proven success playing or coaching at National League Level (or equivalent), NAG’s or National
Representational Level
Excellent technical and tactical knowledge of hockey and its application as a coach
An innovative and creative approach to coaching, including the use of technology to support coaching
Excellent interpersonal skills to support the club committee and manage the wide range of players needs
Ability to plan and deliver training sessions for squads and group of players with differing abilities
Ability to work with the existing team manager and captain to take the squad forwards
Feed into and support the whole club coaching approach
A good understanding of ClubsFirst Policy and procedure with regards to U18s within the club
The First Team Coach is expected to:
Take responsibility for planning and delivering 1st team training
Attend all First Team Matches (mainly weekends)
Support the other club coaches and players
Advise and support Player Recruitment
Feed into the whole club strategy
Develop other/aspiring coaches within the club
Lead preseason and post season planning sessions
This post offers:
A salary plus expenses towards travel, (dependant on distances)
A first team manager to handle administration of the team
European competition over Easter 2014 (already qualified)
Use of club video camera and or software if required
Strategic input into development and planning at the club
