Day 2 EuroHockey Indoor Championship III, Sveti Ivan Zelina

Day 2 in the EuroHockey Indoor Championship III in Sveti Ivan Zelina saw another exciting day of hockey in Croatia.
The host nation won twice to attain the lead in the single pool with 12 points, closely followed by Portugal and Wales with 9 points each respectively. Wales lost out to Portugal 2-5 with Portugal going down 3-4 to Croatia in the final game of the day in front of another full house, 900 capacity crowd. The host’s first victory of the day came against Hungary who they dispatched 8-3. Turkey also recorded two wins against Finland 4-1 and Hungary 10-4 with four goals coming in the last 3 minutes. With Portugal facing Turkey in their final game they must be confident of recording another win which would give them 12 points. It will then all come down to the final game of the tournament when Wales will face Croatia in a must-win match for the Welsh team.
