EHF and Sportways have signed a 2 year agreement whereby they will work closely together to develop hockey in Europe. The partnership will benefit 7 young aspiring coaches across Europe each year.
3 coaches nominated by EHF coaching group will be invited to attend the Sportways Coaching Labatory held each year in December in Barcelona.
4 coaches will be invited to Sportways Excellence Camps in August each year in Barcelona.
The knowledge gained at both of these events will for sure enhance the coaching levels of the young coaches and lead to fresh ideas being shared across Europe.
EHF Education Coaching Group is excited to be working so closely with Sportways whose Hockey Camps have a wonderful reputation for excellence and fun.
EHF and Sportways also hope to join forces in the development of Hockey 5s during the next few years.
Marijke Fleuren, President of the EHF said “I am very satisfied that we are announcing this excellent partnership with SportWays. Good education of our Coaches is the key to developing hockey players. Not only our elite players, but the core members of our clubs. The SportWays ethos of learning through professionalism and fun is a perfect match for us and will allow our coaches to go back to their Nations and Clubs with a new outlook on how young players can learn! It is also exciting that we and SportWays can approach Hockey 5’s with young coaches and a can do attitude.”
Thomas Tichelman, Founder, SportWays ‘We are very happy that we were able to prolong our successful cooperation of the last 10 years with the EHF in the field of youth hockey development in Europe. Our mutual efforts resulted in a concept where SportWays supports the training of young and talented coaches throughout Europe and hosts the EHF signature Hockey Camp of Excellence at the brilliant hockey facilities of Atletic Hockey Club Terrassa in August every year. Our mission to share the passion for hockey with young hockey players combined with an intense atmosphere of friendship that crosses all borders of Europe combines essential values that we are happy to share with the EHF as a highly valued partner.”
Details on how coaches can apply to be involved in this programme will be announced soon. Queries in the meantime should be addressed to our Education and Development Manager, Norman Hughes – email@example.com.
