After the first day in Minsk EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Trophy the leaders in both pools became obvious. Scottish “Grove Menzieshill HC leader in pool “A” , while ” Arminen ” from Austria took maximum points in two matches Friday in pool “B”.
“Grove Menzieshill” HC in the one step of having to set foot in a quartet of teams that on Saturday and Sunday play medals . The Scots won an important match v ” Kampong ” – 5:1. In the first period Martin Callum ( 14 min. ) and McPherson ( 15 min) were able to score two goals in the second period advantage “Grove Menzieshill” HC was special they put the ball three times in the back of the net of the Dutch in second period.
The Croats had a draw (6:6) with a ” Kampong ” and in the second match were stronger “Soerbymagle” HK (6:2).
In pool «B» the game ” Arminen ” v ” Rotwiess Wettingen” was central on the first day . By the middle of the first period, ” Arminen ” efforts led by brothers Bele – 2:0. On the 8th minute, Alexander Bele opened the scoring goals , and 21 minutes Robert Bele scored advantage ” Arminen “. However, ” Rotwiess Wettingen ” well – executed penalty corner. Nicolas Steffen made an accurate throw – 1:2. Team went on break at 3-2 in lead ” Arminen “. It seemed the whole game is still ahead. But in the second period Swiss players made too many mistakes and lost the match.
Also many Italian players from “Bolognia” were strong . After first period of the match guests lead – 2:1 in match with HС “Minsk”. However, in the second period the hosts were able to seize the initiative in the game. Alexander Hancharou made hat-trick in the second period on a 32 – minute Belarusians were leading 6:2. ” Bologna ” was able to return – 5:6 , but HC ” Minsk held off opponents late in the game.
