Day 1 – EuroHockey Club Trophy in Siauliai

The EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy began today and after a long day of matches two clear front runners have appeared.
In Pool A, the host Gintra-Strekte-Uni leads the pack with 10 points, followed by Dundee Wandered with 7 pts., Slagelse HC with 2 points and HF Lorenzoni with no points so far. In Pool B, the Belgian team Royal Antwerp HC leads the way with 10 points , followed by Reading HC with 7, HC Rotweiss Wettingen with 2 points and Kecioren Baglum SK with no points so far. The host, Gintra-Strekte-Uni, won both its games today with the support of the crowd, and Royal Antwerp HC also carried two victories with relative ease.
Some dramatic moments were seen today between Reading HC and HC Rotweiss Wettingen who drew 4-4 (0-2) and between Slagelse HC and Dundee Wanderers who also drew 5-5 (3-3). All teams are then focused on tomorrow’s last pool matches and the possibility of a place in the semis is still within reach.
