Day 2 – EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Trophy in Siauliai

The second day of the EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Trophy kicked off with a win for Reading HC over Royal Antwerp HC, 4-1 (1-1). This was the first loss of the tournament for the Belgian club. This assured Reading HC a place in the Promotion pool. The second game saw Kecioren Baglum SC be defeated by the Swiss ladies of Rotweiss Wettingen HC.
The host, Gintra-Strekte-Uni won their game against Dundee Wanderers 2-1 (1-1) and secured the second spot in the Promotion pool -and the lead in the B pool. The next game saw Lorenzoni HF defeat Slagelse HC by one goal, in a very close game 7-6 (2-2) which left Slagelse at the bottom of the A pool and thus in the relegation pool D. This marked the end of the first pool stages.
The promotion and relegation pools matches began today as well, with the Turkish team Kecioren Baglum SC taking its first victory of the tournament over Slagelse HC in the D pool. Rotweiss Wettingen beat Lorenzoni HF 9-3 (4-2) is now at the top of the D pool. In the promotion pool, we saw a tight match between Royal Antwerp HC and Dundee Wanderers, with the Scottish ladies taking the game 3-2 (2-1). The last game of the day saw the host Gintra-Strekte-Uni and Reading HC draw 2-2 (1-1).
