An exciting day at the EHF Office in Brussels today as the Royal Dutch Association (KNHB) and Royal Spanish Hockey Federation (RFEH) slog it out off the pitch for once to win the opportunity to host the EuroHockey Championships, 2017.
Expressions of interest were invited by the EHF with a deadline of 11th November of last year. 3 expressions of interest were received, with 2 bidders, Spain and The Netherlands taking the next step to enter the tender process.
An Event Evaluation Panel of Carola Meyer, Vice president EHF, Simon Mason, Chair, EHF Communications Committee and Angus Kirkland, Director General EHF was set up by the EHF Executive Board to hear today the presentations from the KNHB and RFEH.
The Event Evaluation Panel will assess the bids and present their recommendation to the EHF Executive Board.
An announcement on the successful bidder will be announced in due course.
