Fantastic reaction to EHF Club of the Year Awards

11th April 2014

For the first time in the history of the awards, the EHF used their 3 tier model for the EHF Club of the Year Awards.
This meant that more clubs could be honoured and the criteria could be widened.

On 2nd April the following clubs were announced as Finalists and Winners:
Large Clubs Award (membership over 300 players)
SAINT GERMAIN HC- France
NESTON HC – England
IRIS HOCKEY LAMBERSART – France
Medium Clubs Award (membership between 100 and 300 players)
ILURO Hockey Club – Spain
WALTHAM FOREST HC – England
KS ‘HOKEJ-START-BRZEZINY’ – Poland
SA MERIGNAC HOCKEY SUR GAZON – FRANCE
Small Clubs Award (membership under 100 players)
KHT AKADEMIK – Bulgaria
HOCKEY CLUB DES 2 CAPS – France
The reaction around Europe has been tremendous with excellent publicity for the clubs and the wonderful work that they are doing, as an example, the EHF vice President Jorge Alcover was invited to partake in the press conference regarding the win of Iiuro HC, watch the video here.
England Hockey is very proud to announce that Waltham Flyers were runners up, with a very nice informative article, read here
We are looking forward to meeting the winners and making their presentations in the coming months!
