Hockey Wales launches a new kind of support for their athletes

Posted On 13th May 2014

Management of busy, hectic schedules and trying to fit in your hockey commitments is a challenge our international athletes face every day. Hockey Wales, as the National Governing Body, is on hand to provide support and assistance to these players as much as possible and is always looking for new and innovative ways to help provide assistance, especially in such an important year as the Commonwealth Games.
We are, therefore, delighted to announce a unique partnership with the amazing team at Vanity Rooms and Spa in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, to provide hair, beauty and massage treatments at discounted rates for the player’s and their partners and families.
Caroline Spanton, Head of Sport, said “This is a very different partnership to the norm, but one that we felt was important to embrace to support our athletes. It is important to feel confident when you go out onto the pitch to play your best game and if you feel good about yourself this has a significant impact on your performance!”
Charlotte McNeill, Owner of the Vanity Rooms, said “We not only want to support the local community but we also want to help support welsh athletes and getting the opportunity to support Commonwealth Games competitors is something we were delighted to do. As Caroline said, looking good and feeling good has a massive impact on your performance and we hope we can provide these players with extra support!”
Hockey Wales are also delighted to announce that the Vanity Rooms will be offering a 20% discount to all Hockey Wales fully affiliated members as well! If you’d like to take advantage of this offer visit http://vanityroomshairdressingandspa.co.uk/ for more details and when you book in let them know you are a member of Hockey Wales.
