Following an EHL meeting in Amsterdam the EHF President Marijke Fleuren invited EHF Vice President Jorge Alcover and EHF Director General Angus Kirkland to her own Club to join one of her traditional “Mammas Monday” evening. This is a groups of Mamis who started volunteering in the Club in various roles over 20 years ago. Whilst not so involved in the day to day activities now they still get together socially once every couple of months. It was a special evening, talking to the ladies and hearing of their involvement in Hockey and seeing how Hockey had been a catalyst for lifelong friendships.
The Club has benefited from an ongoing strong volunteer structure and it is a large part of the local community with a wonderful new clubhouse for the 1700+ members and 5 pitches. The club offers a diverse range of activities to engage in as well as hockey, from tennis, bridge, choir, business club.
The EHF would like to thank LOHC for their hospitality and their hard work.
