After our short introduction yesterday followed by the first bonding we went to bed early to meet again at 0715 h for breakfast directly followed by a nice bus trip through the sunny Netherlands from our homebase (Novotel Rotterdam Brainpark close to Erasmus University) to BHV Push in Breda where Herman Kruis, one of our course conductors, is in charge of the first men’s team that just promoted to Hofdklasse. There we gained technical information about their new pitch, that is watered from underneath, before our risk assessor, Norbert Nederlof, made us familiar with the technical possibilities of mobile devices and apps and their use for video analysis during practice sessions and games.
After a good lunch it was our guest conductor Sven’s turn, who spoke about free hits inside or just outside the attacking quarter and later on showing us exercises on the new pitch with Push’s U16 boys team. This was followed by a fruitful discussion and another presentation about building up play. After having dinner we jumped on the bus again and headed back to the hotel where we prepared our practice sessions for the following days before Norman Hughes gives his presentation.
We are all looking forward to the first match, where all our energy will be used in analysing and dissecting the plays.
