Its all our Officials will be thinking about and dreaming about tonight! EuroHockey Club TMS…..
We are delighted to be Beta testing at 4 of our 10 Tournaments this weekend the new system of Tournament and Match Management.
Why is that good news, you may ask?????
2 weeks ago we received the 26 players and officials from each of our participating teams, say 30 names x 8 x 4 (the Tournaments we are testing at). We input them into the Altius system along with all the EuroHockey Technical officials and the umpires. Lots and lots of names…… Some 931 names to be precise!
Why is that good news for hockey?
4 reasons really…
1. History: Hockey needs to understand our players better, who they are, what club they play for, goal history, card history, the system records all of this for us and gives us the chance to have statistics for the future!
2. Presentation: Gone should be the days of handwritten papers, indeed, as they system is rolled out to allow team managers access to their teams, gone will be the days of chopping down trees worth of paper at Tournaments, just for the sake of it! Media, fans, players and officials can all see the data from the pitch in real time.
3. Match Management: Talking about Match Report Forms, the system is on-line, so the Judge on duty can upload very quickly the stats as they occur during the game, cards, goals, substitutions etc and gives them more time to focus on the action, thereby making sure the MRF is perfect! As this is the only record of the game, it’s essential is right, right?
4. Tournament Management: (the boring? but important stuff) The Technical team can select the umpires, officials, team colours, starting line-ups all with a click of a switch, boring to those who just want to know WHO WON! But essential to ensure a professional, well run Tournament, that’s fair to all the players…..
Want to have a look?
