As the EuroHockey Junior Championship II got underway, with the hosts Portugal winning their opening game on Sunday evening 5-2. The second game of the day was delayed due to the late arrival of the Belarussian kit.
Yesterday evening Russia took on a newly promoted Ireland. Ireland dominated the game with the overall scoreline of 2-5 reflecting the Irish performance.
