20/07/2014 – Both French and Polish defenses played a strong game during the first half. Neither team could easily find its way into the D. All three French goals were scored by captain Victor Charlet via corners. 48 minutes into the game France lead 3-0, but Poland came back into the game thanks to a goal by Hulboy. Nine minutes before the hoother Poland was awarded a penalty stroke which Lewartowski roofed into the upper left corner. Poland fought for the equalizer but the French defense stood strong.

England upset the hosts with a hard fought 1-0 victory
20/07/2014 -The last game of day 1 at the Fintro Junior EuroHockey Championships 2014 between Belgium and England ended in a 1-0 victory for England. It was a very tight game, with both teams playing very well. Belgian player Thomas Verheijen got the ball on his body when defending a pc and England was awarded a penalty stroke. Luke Taylor fired in the 1-0 for England from the penalty spot. Both teams got a lot more chances after that, but the two keepers ensured that the final score was 1-0.
