The Czech Republic had a good chance to score an early opening goal but Klara HANZLOVA’s shot hit the post. Three minutes later it was Marine DELANNOY who scored on the other side via PC. Quickly after Macha LOCKWOOD doubled the French lead. The Czech players didn’t give up and with a little luck Katerina JELINKOVA put one in for the Czech team. But again it didn’t take long for France to get an other goal in as Clemence COUTEAU scored the 3-1.
In the second half the quality of the play of both teams dropped. The French girls had the majority of ball possession but they made to much unforced errors. In the 40th minutes Czech Republic was awarded a PC and Anna VORLOVA scored on the rebound. Seven minutes before the final whistle Manon BRUNEAU slided a Czech player of her feet and the Czech Republic was awarded a Penalty stroke and captain Katerina Lacina scored the equalizer from the penalty spot.
Things weren’t looking good for France as they got a lot of cards in the final minutes and were often one player down. But in the dying seconds of the game France was awarded a pc and captain Marie BILLORE took her responsibility and fired it hard on the backboard.
