26/07/2014 – England and Spain met each other for the second time at the Fintro EuroHockey Championships in the game for the third and fourth place. The game started out fairly balanced with a few changes on either sides but both Amy TENNANT and Ines ARIAS kept the their nets clean. After a badly given penalty corner Emma TRUNKS still could get a shot on. Ines ARIAS saved but she couldn’t clear the ball away for enough and Jo LEIGH reacted quickly to score on the rebound. In the second half Spain had plenty chances and penalty corners, but they couldn’t score. Three minutes before the final hoother Jo LEIGH secured England the bronze medal with her second goal of game.
Final score 2-0
’31 Jo Leigh 1-0 (PC)
’67 Jo Leig 2-0 (FG)
