The Fintro EuroHockey Junior Championships have finished, but we would like to remark on some of the most outstanding players and teams from this fantastic tournament, as they are the ones whose tremendous effort, skill and sportsmanship made this a wonderful competition.
Awards:
Best Goalkeeper – Harry Gibson (ENG)
Best Goalkeeper -Elena Sotgiu (BEL)
Best Player – Pepijn Luijkx (NED)
Best Player – Laura Nunnink (NED)
Top Scorer – Eduardo Garriga (ESP)
Top Scorer – Lieke van Wijk (NED)
Two other important awards were given at this tournament: The Spirit of Respect Awards (Men and Women). Belgium Hockey awarded this to the Czech Women for their incredible capacity to keep playing hockey and keep their spirits up in spite of some heavy losses; to the Spanish men, for their wonderful sportsmanship immediately after they knew they would not make the semi-final. They still came out the next day and played with determination and strength.
