The C4E group continued its seminar, with a round of lectures and field work, followed by a group dinner with EHF President Marijke Fleuren. Andre Ghio, one of the participants, fills us in on all the action.
Day 3 began with Herman Kruis and Siegrfried Aikman giving very interesting lectures. First, Mr. Kruis explained to the group the available technologies to understand the players’ fitness on a daily basis and how to use the information gathered to help players to perform to the best of their ability.
Mr. Aikman showed the group the use of the left and right baseline when attacking the opposing side and also the basics of how to defend in these situations to limit goal opportunities. Lastly, different approaches to and ways of ‘Pressing’.
In the afternoon the group went down to the pitch and watched 2 Deltalent groups in 2 different practical sessions. In the 1st session the group saw a set of exercises aimed at helping the players improve their control. After the session Herman Kruis used shots taken during this training session to lead us through the improvements each player should focus on. In the second practical session, we attended a session focused on defending skills and how to conduct drills targeting specific skills.
In the evening the C4E coaches group met with EHF President Marijke Fleuren, who joined them for dinner.
