The fourth day of EHF C4E seminar was more hands on, for the coaches. The group had the opportunity to experience a full day of hockey matches and use their observational as well as mental skills to analyze the games, the players and the tactics of the teams.
The fourth day of the C4E seminar focused on pitch-side analysis and activities. This was the most hands on day yet, and the participants rose to the challenge! This time, Xenios Polydorou fills us in on the happenings of the day!
The day started with a presentation of the program of the previous day,by Konstantinos Tsiamis and then the group was sent to the pitches for their assigned tasks, divided into groups. Each group focused on analyzing the games. It was a unique opportunity to watch some really skillful players, nice tactics and a great atmosphere of young men promoting the sport, and representing Fair Play. The coaches, after the games, went back to the club House, where they had to discuss their observations and then prepare a presentation.
All the groups showed impressive findings and analytical skills, as well as team spirit and great work ethic. After conductor Siegfried Aikman gave some feedback, the groups set about the next tasks. Having a different task, and new team-members, the coaches went back to the pitch, and coordinated the new task. Having few minutes to get ready before the matches started, the coaches collected all the necessary information for their next presentation.
At around 6:20, ten minutes before the second presentation, a pleasant surprise was awaiting for the coaches:Mr. Herman Kruis announced to the teams that they had the whole evening to prepare the presentation, and they were expected to present it the next morning. Some of the coaches seized the opportunity to go and enjoy a hockey game themselves, before they finally ended a long day at the club house with dinner, drinks and a great atmosphere!
