EHF TCP Member Bernardo Fernandes helps Portugal’s U21 success

Posted On 12th September 2014

Portugal’s U21 Men’s squad recently gained promotion to EuroHockey Junior Championship Men. The EHF and the EHF Education Committee Working group Coaching are very proud that one of the coaches in the EHF Top Coches Programme (TCP), Bernardo Fernandes, acted as assistant coach to the team at the Eurohockey Junior Championship II in Lousada, Portugal.

This is the first time the young men from Portugal have achieved Championship status and Bernardo had this to tell us about his experience: “ I was one of the coaches of the Portuguese U21 team that for the first time in the history of our country promoted to Championship. I was able to use a lot of the experience and tools I learned during our TCP trainings to help us prepare for high level competition and high performance.  I am very grateful for this programme and would recommend it to anyone who has high ambitions and is willing to put in the work“.
