The EHF Education Committee, Working group Umpires has organised through its Supporting National Growth initiative (SNG) three workshops in the coming 2 months. They will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, Vienna, Austria and Dublin, Ireland.
11th – 12th October, Vilnius, Outdoor
This umpire workshop will held in parallel with an U16 Outdoor tournament, and the participants will have an active role in it. 23 participants from Lithuania (19 umpires and 4 umpire’s coaches) and 1 umpire coach from Finland are attending the seminar. The conductor is FIH umpire manager Rob ten Cate from The Netherlands.
Rob will share with the participants his experiences in Top Level outdoor hockey and his recent very important experience as umpire manager in many important FIH and EHF tournaments. His main goal for the seminar will be quite simple: Learn while making friends!
Classroom workshops will be open and lively, with time for questions and discussions. During the seminar, pre- and post- match meetings will be held between appointed umpires, the group of umpire-coaches and Rob.
Some of the topics will include dangerous balls as well as control of the match.
The EHF would like to thank the Lithuanian Hockey Federation for hosting this workshop.
31st October – 2nd November, Vienna, Indoor
This umpire workshop will held in conjunction with an international Indoor tournament, and the participants will have an active role in it. 40 participants from Austria (25 umpires and 15 umpire coaches) and umpires and umpire coaches from Switzerland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary and Greece are attending the seminar. The conductor is FIH umpire manager Peter von Reth from The Netherlands.
Peter will share with all the participants his vast experience in top level Indoor Hockey, and his main goal for the seminar will be to celebrate the particularities of Indoor Hockey.
During the seminar, pre and post match meetings will be held here as well. The seminar will cover a wide breath of subjects, but will focus on some of the most recent developments, such as the move to Hockey5s.
The EHF would like to thank the Austrian Hockey Federation for hosting this seminar.
21st – 23rd November, Dublin, Outdoor
The umpire workshop will held in parallel with an U16/U18 Outdoor boys tournament. The participants for this tournament will come from Ireland itself, as well as Wales and Belgium. The conductor will be the FIH umpire manager Craig Madden from Scotland.
Craig’s workshop will draw on his years of experience as a UM, as well as focus on one key lesson: Management is key! Once again, the seminar will consist of discussions, as well as practical experience.
The EHF would like to thank Irish Hockey for hosting this event.
