Primrose Veterans attend Tournament in Gijon, Spain

The Third International Tournament in Gijon, Spain, which tool place this past weekend 26th – 29th September. This tournament saw 10 teams (7 men and 3 women) participate, over 150 players in total.
Primrose Bordeaux was the only French team to take on the group of Spanish teams, which included Atlétic Terrassa HC, Madrid SUS50, Veteranos de Aragon HC, Tackle-Ezcurdia, Real Club Jolaseta, Real Sociedad de la Magdalena tennis Santander, and host RGCC.  The french team managed to take fifth place, while Santander and Tackle-Ezcurdia played in the final, with Santader taking the coveted first spot (2-0). The MVP of the tournament was Primrose player Thomas Samarcelli.
Various other events were held alongside the hockey competition, in order to promote the great atmosphere created by this event.
Primrose Veterans briefly met the EHF Executive Board who were attending their third meeting of the year, hosted by French Hockey and Primrose HC in Bordeaux. The Veterans’ team shared with the Board that for them, hockey is more than a sport, as it offers them an opportunity to travel, enjoy new places, meet new people and enjoy time with old friends. As veteran hockey continues to grow, it serves to remind us that hockey is for everyone, no matter what age!
