The C Pool Relegation Pool started with Ukraine v Turkey with Switzerland and Portugal in the final C pool game of the day. Points earned in this Pool will determine which two teams stay in the Championship Division in 2017 and which 2 teams are relegated to Championship II level.
Ukraine had the first chance of the game with a PC in the 8th minute, but it was well saved by the Turkish goalkeeper. Ukraine opened the scoring in the 15th minute. The GK was wrong footed leaving OLIYNYK with an open goal which he reversed home with no trouble. Turkey responded in the 19th minute Ozkilic from play. The halftime score was 1-1. Turkey went ahead via COKLU, well defended by Ukraine but the ball found the back of the net. Minutes later as Turkey pressed it was Killinc who scored and Turkey started to really play some excellent hockey. Ukraine elected to take off their keeper and it was an easy shot for POYRAZ. In the last minute, some miscommunication with the defense led to a final goal for POYRAZ and an essential 3 points for Turkey.

Switzerland v Portugal
The game opened with both teams having chances, but the opening goal from Switzerland as Bronnimann and Wyss-Chodat divided and conquered the Portuguese defense. Capatin Wyss Chodat with the assist as Bronnimann slotted the ball home in the 6th minute. Cracking PC from Portugal as the defense sees no sight of the roofed flick from TEIXEIRA levelling the score in the 11th minute. Portugal conceded an unlucky PC as the ball rebounded off the keeper high enough to be deemed dangerous and MORARD made sure of the strike. 2-1 at half time. The second half started slowly with a few cards and lapses of concentration, probably more to do with tired legs and minds, this being the players second game today, rather than ill discipline! SANTOS showed his skill with a lovely goal in the 26th minute to level the game. In spite of both teams having their chances the score remained 2-2 at the end.
