EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Challenge I 2015, Ankara, Turkey

An exciting day’s play in Ankara as the snow thawed and the action in the hall heated up.

After a good start yesterday Partille found themselves on the wrong side of two very close games losing 0 – 3 to hosts Kecioren and then missing out by the narrowest margin to increasingly strong Sofia side NSA. Abasha had a better day and found the net for the first time against Howardians whilst a good night’s rest helped Slagelse to record a 100% record for the competition so far overhauling Abasha by 21 goals and then beating the hosts in a nerve racking encounter in front of a noisy home crowd 6 – 4. As we go into tomorrow’s final round of matches there is still everything to play for with the coveted promotion spots still open to four teams.

Ranking after 2 days of play:

Team Played Wins Draws Losses Goals For Goals Against Difference Points
Slagelse HC 4 4 0 0 44 8 36 20
Kecioren Baglum SK 4 3 0 1 29 8 21 16
Partille SC 4 2 0 2 19 7 12 11
HC NSA Sofia 4 2 0 2 17 16 1 11
Howardian Ladies HC 4 1 0 3 12 25 -13 5
Abasha 4 0 0 4 1 58 -57 0
