04.04.2015, Bilthoven: The dream is alive for first time hosts SCHC as they burst their way into the Final of the EHCCC 2015 with a 2-1 win over the German Champions Rot Weiss Koln. However it was ‘s Hertogenbosch that secured the first place in the semi’s with a solid performance against Club de Campo.

Club de Campo v ‘s Hertogenbosch

In the first semi-final, it was Vera Vorstenbosch’s day as she played some sublime hockey to take her team via a perfect hattrick to the EHCCC Final. She opened the scoring in the 7th minute and scored again just before the half taking the score to 0-2 for Den Bosch.

In the second half a fantastic drag flick from Ireen van den ASSEM just nicked in by her skipper Paumen in the 58th minute put the game beyond Club de Campo. However the Spaniards did counter via Empar GIL, but to no avail. Den Bosch broke down all attacks. A perfect pass from Paumen in the 63rd minute and Vorstenbosch scored a sublime back handed reverse shot, the final score was 4-0.

Rot Weiss Koln v SCHC

In front of a packed crowd of 2,000 people the hosts SCHC took on Rot Weiss Koln. The game was slow to start with both teams happy to let the other play and be patient for good opportunities to build attacks.

SCHC had the first PC of the game in the 14th minute. Van Maaskker was on strike as usual and with a powerful  sweep put the ball left of post. Koln immediately countered and earned a PC in the same minute but the game remained scoreless at the end of the first quarter

The second PC for Koln in the 18th minute came with a green card for SCHC for a pretty late tackle, the ball however remained in the D with SCHC scrambling to defend  eventually finding a Koln foot and some breathing space. It was Koln who had the better of the start of this quarter with  Jaspers creating some space down the left flank. However SCHC were back in the driving seat with a wave of attacks  forcing a long corner which ZERBO was perfectly placed to pop into the goal with the keeper beaten and put the hosts ahead in the 27th minute.

At the start of the second half Koln came out of the blocks first and almost had the equaliser in the opening minute of the second half ! van ODIJK  forced a corner for SCHC in the 46th minute and van Massakker dragged with the ball being deflected in by Koopman to extend their lead to 2-0.

At the start of the 4th quarter the score stood 0-2 in favour of the hosts, but the German girls fought nard and earned a PC in the 60th minute which Grambusch slotted home.

A pretty intense last 10 minutes saw van Massakker miss a stroke and both teams having chances to change the scoreline, but in the end SCHC held firm to take them into the final and a chance to create some club history against the mighty Den Bosch ladies.
