TCP at EHL

12 coaches from 9 countries gathered in Bloemendaal for the start of their 3 year TCP Programme.  The EHF Top Coaches Programme (TCP) was launched in 2013 and is EHF’s top tier programme. These National Associations are invited in August of each year to nominate coaches for TCP. TCP coaches receive as part of their training A high-level seminar linked to a major competition, 4 Webinars presented by some of Europe’s top coaches, Attendance at an U16/U18 international training camp at one of Europe’s top 5 hockey nations.

Day 1 – Mikkel Steinmetz, Denmark
It feels like first day of school. Almost from the first minutes there was talk from everybody. Almost immediately we presented ourselves and goals for the TCP in Bloemendaal. Right after the presentation we drive to the pitch and watch two games where 4 groups have to analyse one team each. It was freezing cold at the venue, but that does not stop hockeycoaches! After the dinner, we had the time to make the gameplan for a game against the team we analysed today… At 2 am, we go to sleep and look forward to another long exiting day!!!

 

Day 2 – Goran Jamicic, Croatia

EHF Top Coaches Programme hit the second day at premises of MHC Alliance. The entire day was full programme scheduled due to rest match day at EHL in Bloemendaal. Kick off was presentations from Sven van der Most on “Midfield Running Patterns” and Stijn Huijsmans on “Outletting patterns”.

In active discussion group key points were discussed:

  • “time and space” awareness and creation,
  • “what if” way of thinking,
  •  idea of thinking patterns wise or principle wise (patterns vs. principles)
