21.05.2015, Brussels: Our Final preview looks at the remaining Men’s events taking place in Wettingen, Lousada and Zagreb. We were lucky enough to have a quick catch up with the coaches before the start of play tomorrow:

EuroHockey Club Challenge I, Wettingen

Kurt Mueller, Head Coach RWW thinks that playing at home is an advantage “We know the pitch and can arrange everything around the team according to our needs. We expect a lot of supporters for our games and hope they will create a great atmosphere.”

He expects Manuel Keller and Nicolas Steffen, his experienced players who grew up in the club and and have played in the Bundesliga for Düsseldorf the last few years before they came back to Rotweiss Wettingen to be is key players.

His up and coming, he had no hesitation in saying “Yves Morard, Swiss international player, 18 years old.” – the one to watch.

At the EuroHockey Club Challenge II in Lousada, a pretty impressive resume from Head Coach  Fernando Gomez. On playing at home he said “Our strength will be on home turf but could built in extra pressure to us. In the end what really counts is always to see the challenges and pursue our goals, and our team likes something that puts us to the test and this competition may be just that. I am very confident.” he has a long list of key players, but their main strength is facing each game. He has many international Portuguese players with no foreign players , so it’s hard to highlight a few, but he expects a lot from his senior players like Hugo , Diogo , Marco Santos, João and Bruno Santos.

On his younger players, he smiled and said “Some of our young players will shine, I’m sure of that.”
