EuroHockey Challenge III, Zagreb:

In a rain swept Zagreb the day began with the completion of the Ardas Rudamina against Napeos Apollon HC which had been abandoned at half time the previous day with the teams tied 2-2.

There was a very understandably sluggish start to the game that saw both teams trying to create a breakthrough but this proved very difficult in the torrential rain however in the 51st minute Ardas took the lead from a Voitechovski corner. The game was a tough midfield battle with very few chances being created bit Napeos managed and equaliser from a Astinos corner.

In a tense last 4 minutes there were chances at either end bit in the end a draw was a fair result

A delayed start to the Day program saw the weather begin to clear where Napeos Apollon HC defeated Olcote HC with two first half goals from Aslford and Paterakis to complete an excellent day for the Greek team

In the second game of the day Inta Baltic Champignons took on Ardas Rudamina in an extremely competitive encounter which saw Ardas running out 4-2 winners with two well taken goals from the excellent Kochkin.

In the last game of the day HK Marathon took on NSA Sofia in what was a very tight encounter with both teams play with pace and there young players shining throughout. Marathon took the lead from a Majdak short corner but the goal of the day was scored by De Baare of NSA Sofia with a great individual goal to draw the scores level at half time.

The game continued to be tight as the both sides pushed for an advantage but with 10 minutes to go Marathon pulled ahead with a well worked field goal from Bagur, they then managed to score two more goals in the last 5 minutes to run out 4 – 1 winners .
