11.07.2015, Brussels; After rest days at the various events over the past two days, it was a full schedule in Mori, Minsk and Sveti, with the boys in Calais taking a much earned rest from play. With Final places up for grabs in Mori and promotional slots also on the cards in Minsk and Sveti it was a day full of drama, tears of joy and disappointment!

EuroHockey U18 Championship II, Girls, Mori:

Yesterday morning Czech Republic beat Wales 3-0, even though the result it was a very balanced match but the Czech team was able to take advantage of the occasions to score. The next match was Lithuania vs Austria and it ended with a 3-3 draw : the match was really intense and both teams never gave up until the end. In the afternoon we saw the matches for the promotion pool, Poland beat Ukraine 1-0 in a very breath-taking match : in fact the goal was scored near the end. In the last game of the day Ireland beat Italy 3-1, ensuring promotion to the Championships.
Today’s matches will determine the championship II champion and the team that will be relegated to championship III

With nothing to play for other than pride as final had already been decided in day 2 the competition resumed after the rest day with the match between Bulgaria and Lithuania. An exciting high scoring match with Lithuania taking a 5 – 4 win.

The second game which was the preview to tomorrow’s final was also a high scoring game. Belarus took a half time lead of 2-1 increasing their lead to 3-1. However Ukraine can strongly back from this adverse result, drew the match and further increased their lead to take the win with a 6-3 result.
