EHF Education – Breda 2015 brings U4E, C4E and Officials together

This weekend, EHF Education is on full throttle  in Breda, the Netherlands where 3 of our Education groups (C4E, U4E and Officials) will meet at the Push Hockey Trophy.

First up, the Coaches!

Coaches for Europe (C4E) Workshops in Breda Push

From 20th till 23rd August 22 the coaches will meet under the watchful eyes of 4 EHF mentors, Norbert Nederlof, Tomislav Jamicic, Siegfried Aikman and Herman Kruis.

Throughout their stay in Breda they will be given practical presentations from our experts as well as doing their own group work using the Breda Push Young Stars tournament for player and match analysis

Umpires 4 Europe in Breda

The Umpires 4 Europe group (U4E) will meet for a practical weekend beginning this Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd. number of games in the prestigious Push Hockey Trophy, which attracts some of the best Under 18 and Under 16 teams from Belgium and The Netherlands. The weekend will also nclude presentations from respected umpires and UMs, one-to-one coaching with mentors, and each umpire will also receive a personal video of their umpiring, with coach commentary.

The mentors for this year are: JF Stappaerts, John Heron, Tom Goode, Tamas Hermann and Paul Box-Grainger.

Officials – Basic Judge Seminar 

The Officials will also meet in Breda for a Basic Judges Course, beginning on Friday 21st and ending on Sunday 23rd. The seminar will be led by Barbara Morgan (SCO), Iain McKay (SCO) and Edna Rutten (NED). All three are high level TDs, with Edna and Barbara both members of the EHF Education Committee, Working group Officials as Chair and member respectively. All three have also just completed the FIH Hockey Academy Educator training course in Bisham Abbey in London.

The seminar aims to help the judges ‘learn by doing’ . While matches are taking place, the participating officials will take part in table as well as activity based tasks. This will help them have more confidence in what they are doing and all the while learning new skills.
