The EHF is currently receiving applications for some of our Education programmes for 2016. The deadline for UDP, and all our coaching programmes applications is November 27th. For any more information, please contact info@eurohockey.org

First up, Umpires!

The Umpire Development Programme (UDP) is currently accepting applications for Group 10 (2016-2018). Deadline for applications is November 27th. All documents have been sent to the Member Associations by the EHF Office.

The UDP targets talented young umpires within Europe and provides a programme of events running over a three year period. The programme is planned by two mentors who provide personal tutelage and guidance throughout and organise seminars, events and practical weekends.
Some of the top umpires in the world have volunteered in the past as mentors for the UDP programme. The mentors for Group 10 will be Carol Metchette and Michiel Bruning, who have both had tremendous careers on the pitch.

The EHF has budgeted for the three year programme for travel, accommodation, full board, tuition and materials) Each National Association who has an umpire participating will be asked to pay €4,200per umpire (€1,400 per year) over the three years.

Nominees must:
• Be between the ages of 18 and 30
• Have a good level of English
• Be actively umpiring within your National Association
• Have international experience (under-16 or above)
• Provide at least one feedback form from an international tournament (desirable)
• Provide a 5 minute video of their umpiring as part of the selection process
• Commit to the programme fully
• Maintain the expected standard of fitness including passing regular fitness assessments

The selected umpires will have shown a commitment to umpiring in their own country and a willingness to commit to programme, with the potential to attain a minimum Grade 1 status within a reasonable time.

All our coaching programmes are also currently accepting application for the next group of its three tier approach

The EHF Top Coaches Programme (TCP) is a 2 year programme and is targeted at the coaches close to or working with your National teams (any age group)

TCP offers 2 “seminars”per year and 3 online webinars. Coaches completing the programme will be assessed for FIH Academy Level 3.

EHF Coaches for Europe (C4E) is a 2 year programme and is targeted at coaches working in your key clubs especially in the area of youth development.
Coaches completing the programme will be assessed for FIH Academy Level 2.

EHF Supporting National Growth (SNG) is an annual programme. This programme can focus on your Federation

• Wanting to develop your local “Start up” coaches (Coaches who will then coach new young players and grow hockey in your country)
• Wanting to develop the knowledge of your club coaches both technically and tactically

In both of the above SNG examples EHF would prioritise and encourage seminars that benefit both your Federation and 2 or more neighbour Federations.

Coaches completing the “Start Up” seminar will be assessed at FIH Academy Level 1

All documents have been sent to the Member Associations by the EHF Office. If you would like more information on the programmes, or how to apply, get in touch with the EHF office (info@eurohockey.org) or email our Education and Development Manager, Norman Hughes (norman@eurohockey.org)
