Its Friday Focus time! The European Hockey Federation recognises that every day, every weekend, every year, Clubs around Europe are doing amazing work for hockey. Clubs are where hockey is born and where hockey legends first pick up a stick. Therefore, there are several ways in which EHF want to highlight and help clubs.
Besides our educational programmes for Coaches, Umpires, Officials, we also have the Club of the Year award, intended to recognise the vital work done by clubs each year, and single out particular clubs for extraordinary development and growth. Our Get and Give programme (here) creates a platform where clubs can get in touch and exchange gear, collaborate and continue growing.
This is why we are very happy to collaborate with England Hockey and Sport England, who have agreed to share some of their club resources with EHF and its member associations.
First up, it’s the online resource ‘Club Matters‘, which provide free and easy access to all types of resources to help start, develop and grow a sustainable club. Club matters covers subjects ranging from Club finances to club marketing to an online resource library. Find out more about Club matters here.
The England Hockey website also is host to a variety of resources, including the Grow your Own Club support page, which is a collection of video resources to guide you through certain concepts and strategies to help your club be more successful and more engaged in the local community. Click here for the Grow your Own club support.
Lastly, the Sustainable Clubs website is a great resource that guides clubs on the issues of environmental sustainability to reduce costs and to limit energy usage. Click here to find out more about this.
The European Hockey Federation would like to extend a warm thank you to England Hockey and Sport England for agreeing to share these valuable resources.
