For another edition of #FridayFocus, we continue to share resources and have an update on what our coaches are up to!
Umpiring Resources
England Hockey has once again shared with EHF, this time its umpire resources. Do you or your NA have some resources to share? Make sure to email us info@eurohockey.org and let us know!
England Hockey has a fantastic web based umpiring platform, where you can learn and study the rules of hockey and allows put yourself in the umpire’s shoes to practice making decisions. A new module also teaches inexperienced umpires how to best communicate your decisions. A whole gallery of ‘You’re the Umpire‘ videos will help you put your knowledge to the test, as well as read through the comments to see what others are thinking.
The European Hockey Federation would like to thank England Hockey for once again sharing its resources with Europe.
Coaches Update
The period for nominating new coaches to our Top Coaches Programme and our Coaches 4 Europe Programme has ended. New participants will be notified in the coming weeks. Education Committee Member Norbert Nederlof will be holding a webinar on December 14th, for both coaching groups. The webinar will deal with individual tactics for top hockey, and will share video resources and hold a discussion with the coaches. Norbert has been very involved in the designing and developing of the FIH Acadely Level 2 resources, so this will be a great way to share some of the work that has already been done.
