EuroHockey Indoor Championships, III, Vantaa

After 3 days of competition the EuroHockey Indoor Championships III in Vantaa is complete. We have witnessed 15 matches of pure class here at Vantaa. We want to thank all the teams and staff for making this possible.

Team Italy was crowned Champions of Level III, Team Turkeythe runner-up and Team Belarus in 3rd place. Team Italy was outstanding, winning all 5 games with a goal difference of 18. Team Italy’s captain #11 Daniel Cioli was selected for the Best Player of the Tournament and Top Goalscorer of the tournament. The Best Goalkeeper award went to Slovakia’s #1 Marius Petrus.

Italy and Turkey will play in the EuroHockey Indoor Championship II in 2018, and Finland and Wales have to begin their journey over from level IV.

The host Team Finland was not able to get the opening win in the tournament, but there is nothing to shame. Players of Finland fought till the end and did the best they could.
