Pool C – EuroHockey Indoor Championships

The Pool C opened with Luzerner playing Complutense both teams only carrying one point from the initial pools so this game was critical for possibly staying in the Divsion, so this game is critical for this

Game 13

Luzerner SC 2 – 6 (0 – 3) C.H. SPV Complutense

Complutense opened the scoring via a direct strike from a PC from Sanchez which rattled the top right net in the 8th minute. This was quickly followed with a field goal from Guillermo PUENTE-VIECO. A 2nd corner awarded to Complutense ended in their 3rd goal as Ricardo SÁNCHEZ struck down the middle as the keeper was running out to reduce the angle.  The score at half-time was 3-0.

Luzerner won a corner in the 1st minute of the second half , the strike saved by the Spanish keeper. The Swiss put on lots of pressure but against the run of play Complutense went 4-0 ahead. Again they went ahead with a cheeky swivel by Antonio SANZ DEL CAMPO  turning his marker and allowing him to score! 5-0. A long power play with 6 field players resulted in a goal for Luzerner. A PC for Complutense in the 17th minute with Luzerner with no keeper and the 6th goal was almost sure, the strike was on target and brought the score to 6-1.  Luzerner were on target again in the final minute  via Nick SCHWEHR.

Game 14

SK Slavia Prague 2 – 6 (1 – 2) WKS Grunwald Poznan
Slavia went ahead in the 5th minute as  Jakub KYNDL  intercepted the ball and glided up the right side, handing it to David VACEK  who had wrong footed the keeper. Grunwald retaliated in the 13th minute via Mateusz POLTASZEWSKI through open play! A very intense 10 minutes and neither side could push ahead, but in the dying seconds of the half Grunwald working the ball up the pitch from the back 2 created enough space for Karol MAJCHRZAK to score.
In the 23rd minute Adrian KROKOSZ  had 2 attempts at flicking from the top of the D, his second successful as Slavia failed to clear. Slavia reduced the scoreline with a close range shot by David VACEK .
A stunning goal from  Szymon HUTEK on the run from a seemingly impossible angle pushed Grunwald’s lead to 2-4. Grunwald extended their lead 2-5 and forced Slavia into a powerplay, but ended up in a 6th goal for Grunwald.
