Semi-Finals – EuroHockey Indoor Club Championships Cup

Posted On 13th February 2016

After 14 games it was time for the 4 teams, East Grinstead, hosts HTHC, SV Arminen and Partille to step up to see who would be in the 2016 EuroHockey Indoor Club Champions Cup!

A powerful display of indoor hockey from both teams, but HTHC, buoyed  by a boisterous crowd and a full hall proved to be the better team on the day. We spoke to Michael Korper after the game, to sum up his thoughts! So far… job done and let’s see what happens tomorrow!

SV Arminen 6 – 3 (4 – 1) Partille SC

In the second semi-final the game was closer than the scoreline might suggest! SV Arminen had the better of the first half as they clocked up goals via Dominic UHER, Sebastian EITENBERGER and UHER again, so they went 3-0 ahead before Partille could reply. Just before the half Robert BELE made it 4-1 and Partille had a mountain to climb! A decision to use a power play for much of the second half did pay dividends as they clawed back to 4-3, but tired legs and no keeper meant that Sebastian EITENBERGER‘s second of the game in the 33rd minute pretty much ended Partille’s comeback. A final goal from Michael MINAR in the 40th minute sealed the victory and a chance for SV Arminen to perhaps go one better than their silver medal of last year!
