9th July 2016: More sun in Vilnius and more goals.
The 2nd day of EuroHockey5s Future Heroes Cup 2016 in Vilnius saw Belarusian girls securing 1st place and their boys clinching a spot in the final. Welsh boys will be the opponents.
Belarusian girls stormed past Wales 9:2 and beat Ukraine 8:0. The only team with 4 victories will finish the tournament playing against Lithuania and Wales on Saturday.
The hosts and Welsh team have 4 points and are fighting for the 2nd place and a ticket to the top European division for the next year. Lithuania lost to Ukraine 1:2 today, but managed to get a draw 3:3 with Wales after falling down 0:3 in the 1st period.
There was also a Lithuanian – Welsh battle in the boys tournament. Lithuanians scored first this time, but Welsh team responded with 4 goals in a row and won the game 8:5. Belarus beat Denmark also 8:5 and gave another painful lesson to Finish boys (18:0).
Belarus will play Wales in the final and Lithuania will face Denmark in a game for the 3rd place if Finland do not beat Danish guys with a very large margin on Saturday morning.
