20th July 2016, Brussels: EuroHockey Championships 2017, Men and Women match schedule is announced.
The EHF and KNHB are delighted to announce the fixture schedule for the EuroHockey Championships 2017, Men and Women.
For the second time, the Championship will open on the Friday evening with hosts Netherlands women taking on Spain at 20.00. 24hs later in the men’s competition, the reigning Champions Netherlands also face Spain.
The competition will run over 10 days from the 18th – 27th August, as the teams compete to be crowned European Champions and earn a slot at the World Cup in 2018.
There are many mouth-watering ties during the Pool games which will be followed by the classification matches.
In the Men’s Pool A in addition to Spain, Netherlands face Belgium and newly promoted Austria. In Pool B, Germany face England, Ireland and Poland (who are making their first appearance at the Championships since Boom in 2013).
In addition to Spain, the Dutch ladies will face Belgium and and Czech Republic (who are making their first appearance at the Championships since the 12 team event in Cologne in 1999). In Pool B reigning Champions England face Germany, Ireland and Scotland.
The match schedule is being announced early so that fans can start to make their travel plans and tickets will go on sale in late September, we will announce the exact date soon!
For the 4th time running at the EuroHockey Championships the Euro ParaHockey finals will be played on the Championship pitch on Wednesday 23rd.
