Day 3 EuroHockey Youth Championships III, Gibraltar

22nd July 2016:  The hosts played their second game against the Swiss on this the last day of the round robin competition.  

With a good number of supporters in the stand at Victoria Stadium we were in for an action packed game.  Both teams started off strong, soon to be clear that both teams were out to seal the victory.  With a number of penalty corners awarded and some excellent defensive and offensive play from both teams a goal was soon scored by the Swiss.  With the first period over the second saw the Hosts Gibraltar come out fighting to the end.  With an action packed, end to end game the hosts withdrew their keeper, Chelsea Glover to play an on field kicking back player.  In the last moments of the period the hosts scored, but the Final score, Gibraltar 1 – Switzerland 1.

Our Championship and Championship II (boys and girls) events kick off on 24th in Cork and Glasgow respectively. With the boys Championship II in Albena starting on 27th July.
