As the Rio Olympics Games continue, we turn our focus to the umpiring panel there which features 3 UDP umpires and 3 UDP mentors!
Marcin Grochal (POL) is from UDP Group 1, Sarah Wilson (SCO) is from UDP Group 4, and Laurine Delforge (BEL) is from UDP Group 7.
Marcin Grochal (POL)On the mentor side, UM Henrik Ehlers (DEN) mentored UDP Group 2, Andy Mair (SCO) is one of the Video Umpires in Rio, and he was a mentor for UDP Group 2 as well and is currently mentoring Group 9, and Carol Metchette (IRL) who is also acting as Video Umpire, mentored UDP Group 7 and is currently mentoring Group 10.

Sara Wilson (SCO)In a few short weeks, the next UDP hopefuls will meet in Breda, The Netherlands for a weekend of umpiring. There, for the first time in UDP history, they will umpire in front of a panel who will decide the next 6 umpires for Group 11. Will any of them be in Tokyo 2020? or perhaps in the next Olympics in 2024?
