13th November, Brussels: On Thursday 10th November EHF President, Marijke Fleuren, welcomed 33 Member Associations to the 28th EHF General Assembly, which took place during the FIH Congress in Dubai. 

Accounts were approved for 2015, and budget for 2017 was approved along with proposal to keep subscriptions for 2017 the same as 2016.

Norman Hughes and Gianni Rossi presented a report on the progress of the EHF/KNHB Sharing Knowledge programme which will be concluded during the Rabo EuroHockey Championships in Amsterdam, in August 2017.

The EHF Strategic plan 2017 – 2024 was launched – a separate bulletin will be published.

Leandro Negre, FIH President attended the meeting and was presented with a gift from the EHF to thank him and recognise the wonderful work he has done for hockey over the years, before he stepped down as President at the FIH Congress the following day. Marijke thanked Leandro on behalf of the European Hockey family for his “work, honesty, openness and friendship.”

The next General Assembly will take place on 18th August 2017 in Amsterdam, the theme of which will be “Let’s Share”
