#FridayFocus – Second ParaHockey Forum held in EHF Office

Posted On 16th December 2016

The European Hockey Federation held a second ParaHockey this past Saturday, following a successful 2016 full of ParaHockey activity throughout Europe, including this year’s festival in Essen, the the ABN AMRO Integration Cup in Belgium.

The Forum saw attendees from Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Ireland. EHF President Marijke Fleuren was also present, as well as two Special Olympics – Netherlands representatives, Chairman Ruud Verbunt and Sports Director Natascha Bruers.

The forum began at lunchtime, where the ParaHockey leaders had a chance to interact with the EHF Executive Board, who closed their last meeting of 2016 shortly before the joint lunch.

The meeting then covered updates from each nation, and a report on the upcoming edition of the Euro ParaHockey Championships , which will take place alongside the Rabo EuroHockey Championships in Amsterdam.

If you are interested in starting your own ParaHockey team, or creating a Para section within your club/nation, you can find the FIH ParaHockey Rules available for download here and contact us with your questions!
