#FridayFocus – Supporting National Growth In Belarus

Posted On 20th January 2017

A seminar was held in December (27 – 29) in Mogilev, Belarus, in conjunction with the National Women’s Championships.

18 umpires participated, 10 of them umpired at the National tournament and 8 were youth umpires hoping to improve and learn. World Panel umpire Elena Eskina led the seminar which focused on the following topics:

Rules of Indoor Hockey and their interpretation

Penalties

Positioning

Cooperation

Management Skills

The umpires were able to put theory into practice by getting on pitch practice and debriefing after matches.

Coaches joined for some of the sessions and were a valuable addition to the seminar, as they gave different perspectives and created a positive atmosphere of discussion and growth.
