EHF confirms all EuroHockey events game times

Posted On 1st February 2017

1st February 2017: Following on from the FIH Executive Board agreement to adopt four quarters of 15 minutes for international hockey matches at all levels which came into effect on 1 January 2017, the EHF has clarified the situation in relation to all EuroHockey events.

David Voskamp, EHF Competitions Manager stated “It’s clear that all Senior and Junior EuroHockey Championships fall under the FIH’s agreement above, what wasn’t clear is in relation to the other EuroHockey events. For the sake of consistency for players, officials and fans, the  EHF Executive Board agreed at their December 2016 meeting that the EuroHockey U18 Championships will also be played in the 4 x 15 minutes format. With regards to outdoor club events, the EHL and EHCC were already playing in this format. From now on Outdoor club Trophy and Challenge events will also be played in the 4 x 15 minutes format.”
