EuroHockey Indoor Clubs, time for the ladies to shine!

Posted On 16th February 2017

16th February 2017: This weekend in Wettingen, Siauliai and Cascais the EuroHockey juggernaut rolls in for our Indoor Club Championships for Women.

At the Championship Division it is Mannheimer HC who are flying the German flag here, replacing Dusseldorf  who are current Champions, who beat Club de Campo in the final in Minsk in 2016.

Club de Campo, back again in Wettingen will be looking to go one better this year!

SK Slavia Prague, SV Arminen, SV Kampong and HC Minsk are all back again as Champions and defending their positions from 2016, with newly promoted Royal Pingouin HC and hosts HC Rotweiss Wettingen the teams promoted from the Trophy in 2016.

Games start at 10:00 tomorrow with Royal Pingouin taking on 4th ranked SV Armenin, a tough baptism for their first ever appearance in the Championship Division.

All results will be available here, with Live Streaming available here.

In the Trophy Division in Siauliai, the ultimate prize for the first and second placed teams is to play in the Championship Division in 2018.

A fearsome line up for tomorrow as 5th ranked Dundee take on 3rd ranked East Gindstead in the opeing game. Ard’s captain,Caroline Adams’ speaking to John Flack ahead of the event in Lithuania said ” The teams from Lithuania and Ukraine have come down from the first division and we anticipate they will be tough opposition.” Adding “Each year we have shown that we are getting better and competing with the bigger nations. The second division is a big step from the third where we have had success before so each year we have to be better in order to stay in the second-tier. The teams we will be facing will have just finished their respective indoor leagues where they have gained competitive experience against other clubs over a period of time.”
