#FridayFocus – Apply for our Educations programmes: Umpiring and Officials

Posted On 31st March 2017

This Friday, we are shining a light on the programmes that are currently accepting applications. All of these programmes will take place in the Push Trophy Tournament, which hosts our biggest educational event of the year. All application instructions have been sent to National Associations.

Umpires

U4E and Umpiring Pathway

The U4E programme includes mentoring, webinars and practical weekends, and the “big event” is the Push tournament in Breda, Netherlands from 25th-27th August 2017. This is a 2 year programme but it can be extended according to the umpire’s progress and needs.

The U4E programme is now also part of the Umpiring Pathway, which means that selection for UDP Group 12 will be done from the pool of umpires who are accepted into the U4E programme. This process was successfully followed last year, and allows a selection panel to see the umpires in action, and to have face to face interactions that better inform the selection.

Applications are due by Friday April 28th.

EHF Umpire Coach Level 1

The first EHF Umpire Coach Level 1 course will be at the Push Hockey Tournament in Breda, The Netherlands from 25th – 27th August 2017. There will be a maximum of 12 participants.

Former WP umpire and UM Craig Madden will be leading the course assisted by two mentors. The course will include classroom sessions and practical one-to-one coaching of umpires.  All participants that complete the course successfully will receive the certificate “EHF – Umpire’s Coach Level 1”.

As spaces are very limited, for its first edition, priority will be given to developing hockey nations.

Deadline for Nominations is Friday April 14th.

Officials

Judges Seminar

EHF Education Committee – Working Group Officials is organising a Technical Officials Seminar (judges level) on 25th – 27th August in Breda, The Netherlands, at HC PUSH. National Associations are being asked to nominate candidates and get them to complete the attached information form to be sent in with the nomination from their National Association. There are a maximum of 27 places open on this seminar.

This seminar is for all those who will be added to their NAs appointment nomination lists for 2018, or those who were previously added and have yet to complete an EHF Educational course. In 2018, no appointments will be given to officials who have not been through an EHF course.

Deadline for nominations is Monday May 1st.
