EuroHockey Club Cup Rankings and 2018 qualifiers confirmed

Posted On 9th June 2017

9th June 2107: The EHF is delighted to announce the EuroHockey Club Cup Rankings and confirm the 2018 qualifiers.

The combination of UHC Hamburg’s run to the EuroHockey Club Cup final and Münchner SC’s success in the Club Trophy produced the added bonus for German hockey of a second ticket to the top tier for 2018.

Those results mean that Germany move back up to second place in the national rankings tables, jumping just above England in the rankings. The Netherlands remain rock-solid in the top rank following Den Bosch’s success last Monday.

England now have one ticket to the Cup next year while their second seed will be destined for the EuroHockey Trophy event.

The other major mover was Belarus who will take a place in the Cup competition in 2018. This is because of strong performances from both HC Minsk and GHC Ritm Grodno who finished third and fourth in the Trophy, respectively.

It means their nation jumped from seventh place to fifth overall, jumping ahead of both Ireland and Russia. Ireland retain one place in the cup next year while Russia’s number one seed will drop down to the Trophy for next season.

The other move in the top ten has seen Scotland appear in ninth place, jumping above Italy courtesy of Grove Menzieshill’s win over SG Amsicora in the seventh place playoff in the Trophy in Munich.

The clubs qualified will be announced as soon as they have been confirmed by our National Associations.
