#FridayFocus – 15th Memorial Boris Farkaš Youth Hockey tournament in Zagreb

30th June 2017

HK  Trešnjevka Zagreb held the 15th International Youth Hockey tournament on the 17/18 June a the Zagreb Hockey Centre. Former TCP Coach Goran Jamicic sent us a full report of this wonderful event. The goal of the event is to target youth hockey players before the summer break, and to share hockey skills!

24 teams from 10 different clubs, from Bulgaria ( HC Petar Beron and HC NSA Sofia), Italy (HC Bondeno), Hungary, and Croatia (HK Concodria 1906, HK Marathon, HAHK Mladost, HK Zelina, HK Zrinjevac and host club HK Trešnjevka)

The children competed in four different categories: U10, U12, U14 and U16, with mixed teams, following mini-hockey rules.

This meant two days of 250+ kids enjoying hockey in front of a supportive and lively crowd. After more than 70 matches, the winners were declared for each division:

U10 – HK Zelina

U12 – HK Zelina

U14 – Hungary

U16 – HK Marathon Zagreb

More than 30 club volunteers helped deliver this great event, and some great coverage of the event thanks to media partners! You can have a look at photos from the tournament on HK Trešnjevka Zagreb’s facebook page!

Next year’s tournament is already being planned, so mark your calendars 16/17 June 2018! HK Trešnjevka wants to thank all participating clubs, hockey players, coaches and volunteers for their work and effort to make this a great and friendly tournament!
